Small Business Administration recognizes Rocky
Flats Supplier

Future Solutions, Inc., a small disadvantaged, Denver-based
business which provides recycled-content products to the Rocky Flats
Environmental Technology Site, has been selected as the "1998 Small
Business Subcontractor of the Year" for Region VIII by the United States
Small Business Administration.
"This is a small, minority, woman-owned business,
which is blazing a path in the uncharted territory of affirmative procurement,"
explained Willie Franklin, Kaiser-Hill procurement. "Future Solutions,
Inc., has supported Kaiser-Hill with education and purchasing of recycled-content
products."
Future Solutions, Inc., was judged to be superior in all of
the selection criteria for the nomination, including customer interface;
resource utilization; management; and cost, delivery and quality performance.
Franklin, who nominated Future Solutions, Inc., for the award,
also noted that members of Future Solutions staff are "very focused
and customer-oriented with an energy level and product knowledge that
meets our expectations."
Future Solutions, Inc., will be Region VIII's nominee for
the national award to be presented at a banquet on June 4th in Alexandria,
VA. Region VIII includes Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South
Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.
In fiscal year (FY) 1997, Rocky Flats awarded more then $170
million in small business subcontracts and more then $56 million in
small, disadvantaged business subcontracts. In FY98, Kaiser-Hill
is expected to award more then $130 million in small business subcontracts
and more then $47 million in small, disadvantaged business subcontracts.
